 Daylilies that are size #1 are usually two fans, but could occasionally be one very large fan.

Advance Party-one fan (two fans for $6)  $4.00 Huge 7", lavender pink flowers with a pale pink eye and yellow throat. Deeply recurved sepals accentuate the beautiful large, heavily ruffled petals. Blooms from early through midsummer; one of the first daylilies to bloom. 28" tall. Another Stamille beauty.
Always Afternoon-one fan (two fans for $6)  $4.00 5.5", dusky rose self with a striking plum purple eyezone and a green throat Extended bloom--flowers last at least 16 hours each. Designer daylily-lots of blooms, does well in the north, gorgeous flowers. Blooms early on 22" scapes. This won the Stout medal in 1997 for the top daylily of the year. Popularity poll.
Barbara Mitchell  $6.00 Size #1. 6½ inch blooms on 20 inch scapes. Beautiful soft pink blossoms with celery green throat. Of fine form; petals are edged with deep flowering ruffles. Long flowering and many buds. Always near top of popularity poll for good reason. Winner of Stout Silver Medal Award for best daylily in 1992. Midseason bloom.
Bela Lugosi  $6.00 Sold out. One large fan.. Widely regarded as one of the best purple daylilies on the market. 6", saturated true purple flowers with a lime green throat. A strong grower, well-branched, and heavily budded. Blooms in midsummer. Popularity Poll. 33" tall. I really, really love this daylily. The pictures may look beautiful of it, but I think it is even prettier in person. This is a four star daylily and one of my very favorites. 2007 Lenington All-American Award for Best Performer Over Wide Geographic Area -only one daylily is selected each year.
Big Smile  $8.00 Size #1- Huge 7 inch tri-colored blooms of yellow and white have a beautiful blush peach ruffled edging. 24" tall. Fragrant. Midseason bloom, Very showy-you can see this across the yard. Collector's daylily.
Buttered Popcorn-one fan (two fans for $5)  $3.00 Sold out. This buttery-gold winner has been called a "large bloomed Stella de Oro" due to its near continuous blooming habit. This kind of reliable flowering is very rare in a chunky sized plant with an abundance of 6" blossoms. All American winner for 2006. 28-33" scapes from mid-season into fall, until frost. Average of 100 days of bloom per year.
Calypso Coral-one fan (2 fans for $5)  $3.00 Calypso Coral has flowers that are 5" ruffled soft coral blend above yellow throat, fragrant. This color is a very beautiful orange sherbet color. It is from the Platinum Palette series, with good rebloom, multiple scapes with high bud count, and sunfast colors.It is relatively short, only 16 to 20 inches tall.
Canadian Border Patrol-one large fan(2 fans for $8  $5.00 Sold out. Large, 6" heavily ruffled flowers are creamy white with a gorgeous deep purple eye-zone and matching edges. Very showy. 28" tall. Early-mid season bloom. Lots of awards-Honorable Mention, 1998; Don C. Stevens Award, 2000; Award of Merit, 2001. Popularity poll.
Charlie Pierce Memorial-one fan (2 fans for $6)  $4.00 Early-midseason. 6" bloom. Reblooms. Pinkish lavender with a wine purple eyezone and green throat. Nice ruffling on edges and a long bloomer. 1998 AHS Award of Merit. (The AHS Award of Merit is given to signify that a daylily cultivar is not only distinctive and beautiful, but has also proven good performance over a wide geographic area).
Chicago Apache-one fan (2 fans for $6)  $4.00 An intense, rich scarlet red, with a tiny yellow-green heart. Petal edges are nicely crimped. One of the longest bloomers. 27 in. height. Midseason. 5 in. flower. A very vigorous grower with healthy foliage and sturdy scapes. Extremely sunfast, Popularity poll.
Christmas Time-one fan (2 fans for $5)  $3.00 Sold out. Huge blooms (7" across) that are bright Christmas red with a green throat. Mid season bloom, 37" tall. Very showy.
Chum-one fan (2 fans for $6)  $4.00 5 Inch blooms are DOUBLE and a beautiful light salmon pink blend, reblooms. Early to midseason bloom, 28" tall.
Country Melody-one fan (two fans for $6)  $4.00 Country Melody has 5.5", fragrant, true pink flowers with a small green throat. Blooms have a soft yellow halo, pale pink midribs, and ruffled petals edged in lemon yellow. Designer daylily with heavy scapes with excellent branching and bud count. Midseason bloom on 30" scapes. Award winner.
Crystal Pinot  $8.00 Size #1. Coming week of May 19
Custard Candy-one fan (2 fans for $6)  $4.00 This daylily has 4.25", creamy yellow blooms with a maroon band, yellow watermark, and green eye. Petals have gold picotee edges and a rounded form. Very popular due to its long bloom time and vigorous growth habit-on popularity poll. I had sold this a few years back and planted one and forgot what it was. I ran into it last year and was just stunned by how pretty it was. The cream part has a kind of glistening quality that is so delicate and beautiful. Click on the photo and you can see this quality in the larger photo. 24" tall. Early-mid. Stout Medal winner for best daylily of 1999.
